United 4 - City 3

Report by Ben HibbsUnited deservedly won the derby in high drama in injury time after three times letting City back into the game. The Reds should have had it wrapped up, but with the scores locked at 3-3 after 90 minutes, Michael Owen popped with a late, late winner.

Rooney had given the Reds the lead, only for Tevez to capitalise on Foster's error as Gareth Barry equalised. Darren Fletcher then twice put United in front, but Craig Bellamy twice equalised, then substitute Owen latched on to the outstanding Ryan Giggs's throughball and, in the sixth minute of injury time in a pulsating derby, poked home the winner.

It was certainly a game of two halves as, despite United's rapid start, it was City who had most of the possession before the break. But the victory was wholly justified as United's second half performance was full of class.

United’s team had a similar look to the side that took Tottenham Hotspur apart a week ago; the only change being Ji-sung Park in for Paul Scholes.

As the City players took to the field for their warm-up, the boos that normally greet their Old Trafford visits were that little bit louder as Carlos Tevez had miraculously (or not) recovered from injury to make City’s starting XI. There was no place, of course, for the suspended Emmanuel Adebayor or the injured Robinho.

Still, our blue neighbours would not entirely be deterred. Their 100 per cent start to the campaign, on the back of huge summer spending, has given rise to the belief (largely at Eastlands) that they are title challengers. At this stage at least, City are mere pretenders. A large flag unveiled in the old scoreboard end before kick-off spelt it out emphatically. Welcome to Manchester: 18 Premier League titles. 3 European Cups. 11 FA Cups.at the ground, the clock clicks onto 34 years.

Sir Alex promised the game would be feisty, and that’s how it started. Tevez, typically tenacious, gave United an early fright when he blocked Ben Foster’s clearance, but from the resulting throw-in the Reds countered with Dimitar Berbatov, who slid an incisive pass into Wayne Rooney’s path. Rooney was tackled by Micah Richards, but from a second throw-in City were caught out. Evra advanced along the byline unmarked before finding Rooney, who steadied himself with two blue shirts in close proximity and poked a shot through Shay Given’s legs. A dream start after just two minutes.

However, it was the high point in a frustrating half for United. After 17 minutes the Reds were pegged back – Tevez the goal’s architect. During two years at Old Trafford, we were well-accustomed to Tevez eagerly pestering opposition goalkeepers. And so – especially after an earlier warning – it was surprising that Foster didn’t clear his lines from a harmless blue ball forward. Instead, the Reds keeper hesitated, allowing Tevez to tackle him and lay the ball off for Gareth Barry, who side-footed past Nemanja Vidic on the line.

Despite the excellent start, the Reds enjoyed limited opportunities in front of goal for the remainder of the half. Berbatov saw a long-range effort go over and then couldn’t keeper a header down from Giggs’ free-kick. City, with three central midfielders to United’s two, enjoyed a dominant share of midfield possession, but they too lacked the guile to create. That is, until the final minute of the half when the ball was worked through to Tevez in the area. The Argentinian, with just Foster to beat, hit the post but that was largely due to Evra’s off-putting intervention.

Diego Maradona

Forget The Hand of God
Diego Maradona regularly wears several earrings
Sunday, 20 September 2009 | 7:53 AM
KOMPAS.com - Diego Maradona has had gold and diamond ear rings worth £3,700 seized from him by Italian police as part of an unpaid £28million tax bill.
Maradona, loathed by England fans after he diverted a goal past Peter Shilton in the 1986 World Cup with his hand, was in Italy as part of a crash diet course.
Officials said he handed over the three earrings without complaint after they had knocked on the door of his luxury suite at the health spa where he was staying.
Maradona had arrived at the Hotel Palace in Merano near Bolzano in the Italian Dolomites last week on a £2,200 diet course - room not included.
Tax officials say the money is owed from the seven years he spent playing in Italy at Napoli between 1984 and 1991 - although he claims it was the club's responsibility to pay. It is not the first time that police have seized personal items from Maradona.
Three years ago two Rolex watches worth £9,000 as part of the debt and his appearance fee on Italy's version of Strictly Come Dancing were also taken.
Details of the seizure of the earrings was announced by Italy's tax authority and MP Maurizio Fugatti, of the Northern League, said: 'I reported his presence in Italy to the tax authorities when I heard about it on the news.
'I am delighted that the police intervened - I'm not sure if it was as a direct result of my call. I know the earrings are a grain of sand compared to what he owes but in any case it is a great sign to the honest tax paying citizens of this country.'
Maradona has stayed at the Hotel Palace before while at Napoli the hotel is also a favourite with Italian politicians and celebrities but today/yesterday staff refused to comment on his stay.
Under pressure Maradona, 48, is facing heavy criticism in his native Argentina following a series of defeats which have left the team on the brink of failing to make next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.
They have appeared at every tournament since 1974 and famously won the trophy when the finals were held in Argentina in 1978.
After a recent defeat against Paraguay he was quoted by FIFA.com as saying: 'I am not afraid of criticism. I am afraid of nobody. I am doing my job, I have my team and I am going to go forward.'

Tottenham beat Chelsea ?

By Alan Dawson:

Cockney coach confident of claiming result at Stamford Bridge...

Paternal trainer Harry Redknapp has assured his Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of the club's trip to Chelsea on Sunday that his side have the capability and talent to rid themselves of a Stamford Bridge hoodoo that has seemingly jinxed their recent results.
Furthermore, the former Portsmouth and Southampton boss believes the new positive mental attitude that Spurs can brag will only remedy their cause against the Blues.
Tottenham, aside from a loss against Manchester United last weekend, have begun the season in thrilling fashion, and aim to bounce back from the defeat to the Red Devil's.
On their abysmal form at the Bridge, Redknapp remained unworried. He told the Daily Mail: "You get different players. If you ask Wilson Palacios about Tottenham's record with Chelsea he wouldn't have a clue, would he? Sebastien Bassong wouldn't have a clue.
"I don't think it'll be a case of 'we can't beat Chelsea'. We'll go there and it's another game, a game against a top, top team."

Nuisance box-player Didier Drogba has proved a useful foil against the toughest of defences since his switch to the west Londoners from Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille, but Redknapp stated the Lilywhites have the answer in Ledley King.
"When he's [Drogba] playing as he is he really is an unbelievable powerful striker," the Tottenham boss added.
"He's very instrumental in what they have achieved. Under Jose Mourinho he was that frontman who was so difficult to stop.
"Ledley's in great form, Ledley's strong and quick as well so it'll be two powerful players against each other. So I'm sure he'll know he's in a game."

Today at Old Trafford

Our journalists' take on what's happening at OT – have your say on Talking Reds. We try to link responsibly but can't be held accountable for content on external websites.

Friday 18 September

12:54
Just to explain Seeler's somewhat random appearance at OT, I understand he was the star attraction on a package tour for German football fans. While joining them on their look-around the stadium, he was keen to meet up with an old acquaintance in Sir Bobby Charlton. The two men were on opposite sides on several occasions, most notably at Wembley in '66. I passed Sir Bobby on the stairs earlier (oops - isn't that bad luck, to pass on the stairs?), so hopefully the reunion took place. Thanks to our friends in the Museum for tipping us off about the VIP visitor. (AB)

11:36 Oh yeah, the reason I'd wandered down to the pitch was to meet Uwe Seeler. He's the only player to have scored two goals in four different World Cup finals. He also captained West Germany against England in the 1966 final and is widely regarded as one of the finest German forwards to ever play the game. He scored 43 times in 72 appearances for his country. As for his club career, he scored four goals on his first-team debut for Hamburg, aged just 18. It was an honour to meet him. (NC)

11:29 Neither team should have any concerns about being able to play good passing football on Sunday. I've just popped into the stand at the Scoreboard End and Tony Sinclair and his groundstaff are busy preparing the pitch. It looks tremendous. (NC)

10:49 Sir Alex was in fine form at his press conference this morning. He says he isn't bothered whether Carlos Tevez is fit to play on Sunday. He said: “It doesn’t bother me one bit. All I know is that their

Eto'o happy with share of the spoils

FC Internazionale Milano striker Samuel Eto'o revealed that it felt strange facing his old team-mates in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, but that a point gleaned from a goalless draw with FC Barcelona was a satisfactory outcome.

Barça past
Eto'o joined Inter in the summer after five extremely successful years with Barcelona. Among an array of silverware the 28-year-old won while at the Camp Nou the two UEFA Champions League winners' medals perhaps feature most prominently – not least because he scored in both the 2006 and 2009 finals. Little wonder then that Eto'o, who scored 109 goals in 144 league appearances for the Blaugrana, had to check himself as he lined up against his former brothers in arms.

'Bizzarre'

"Playing against my old team-mates was bizarre at first because I was with them for a long time," the striker told uefa.com. "But I guess it's normal to feel that way initially. After three or four minutes I was fine, though, and fully focused on the match, which was tricky because we were up against the best team in Europe. It was very difficult but the most important thing was not to lose. We could have even won it but considering the way the match unfolded we're satisfied with the point."

Packed house
The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza was packed with 76,000 ardent Interisti, who played their part in keeping the European champions at bay and whose myriad banners added to the spectacle. "Playing in front of a packed San Siro was incredible," said Eto'o. "It would have been nice to have won in a stadium full to the rafters with tifosi but, never mind, hopefully we will win next time."

Messi praise
At least the Cameroonian will not have to worry about man of the match Lionel Messi again until Matchday 6. The Argentinian forward was a thorn in Inter's side throughout and came close to scoring on three occasions. "Messi is a truly great player," said his former team-mate. "I don't know what more I can say about him. He is unique – the Maradona of his day."

Ibrahimović chance
Moving in the opposite direction in the summer was Zlatan Ibrahimović, who received a torrid reception from the home fans on his return to the San Siro. The Sweden international might have silenced the crowd as early as the eighth minute, but after brilliantly chesting down Daniel Alves's floated pass, he fired over. "I think Barcelona played better than Inter, but they are also a great team, they have signed important players and have a great mentality," he said. "Personally I had a couple of good chances and with a bit of luck I could have scored. At the moment, however, the most important thing is to learn how this team moves and adapt to it."

Persib Bandung Team 2008

...........Indonesian Language Titel

Persib Bandung (Go-Persib)
Masalah pendanaan Persib Bandung akhirnya terpecahkan.

Kenapa bagian terbesarnya berupa pinjaman?

Do the best. Jangan lagi mikir macam-macam.

Nothing to Hihe

Old Trafford, crowd, fans, stadium

United face new poaching row
Manchester United are confident they will not face action over the signing of Italian kid Michele Fornasier. Fiorentina have complained to FIFA over the 16-year-old defender's move to Old Trafford. Players who are under 18 are not allowed to sign contracts in Italy, so United are sure they have done nothing wrong. However, Fiorentina are furious at losing out on Fornasier, who was one of their biggest prospects. A FIFA spokesman said: "We can confirm that we were contacted by Fiorentina with regard to the potential transfer of the player, Michele Fornasier, to Manchester United. However, so far no formal investigation was opened since the relevant documentation still needs to be completed. Only then will we be in a position to evaluate possible future steps to be taken."
Staff reporter, The Sun

FIFA President Sepp Blatter suggests that teams found guilty of poaching players should be docked points in future, as opposed to the fine and transfer ban with which Chelsea were punished last week. "You have to touch them where it hurts," says Blatter. "Take away points and you will see it is finished."

After a busy night of World Cup qualifiers, Scotland captain Darren Fletcher was left to lament his side's early exit. "All the players have got to take a look at themselves - it wasn't good enough," says a forthright Fletch.

Meanwhile, The Daily Star uses Inside United's interview with Sir Alex Ferguson to reveal that new signing Gabriel Obertan is on the road to recovery, despite a spinal injury going undetected for 18 months during his time in France.

Carlos Tevez

Carlos Tevez is one of the Manchester United best Forward man ,now he join with Manchester City at BPL now.I thing this is the bad news for MU but good news for the citizen.Fergusen must be carefull about this man.

“Apa kabar semuanya,” ucap Tevez membuka konferensi persnya.

Tevez sendiri sebenarnya ingin bertahan.
(EDY/SOCCER)
