According to him, he still has the money around 60 million pounds or approximately USD 838 billion, the remaining sales of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, the end of the 2008-2009 season. United 4 - City 3

Report by Ben HibbsUnited deservedly won the derby in high drama in injury time after three times letting City back into the game. The Reds should have had it wrapped up, but with the scores locked at 3-3 after 90 minutes, Michael Owen popped with a late, late winner.

Rooney had given the Reds the lead, only for Tevez to capitalise on Foster's error as Gareth Barry equalised. Darren Fletcher then twice put United in front, but Craig Bellamy twice equalised, then substitute Owen latched on to the outstanding Ryan Giggs's throughball and, in the sixth minute of injury time in a pulsating derby, poked home the winner.

It was certainly a game of two halves as, despite United's rapid start, it was City who had most of the possession before the break. But the victory was wholly justified as United's second half performance was full of class.

United’s team had a similar look to the side that took Tottenham Hotspur apart a week ago; the only change being Ji-sung Park in for Paul Scholes.

As the City players took to the field for their warm-up, the boos that normally greet their Old Trafford visits were that little bit louder as Carlos Tevez had miraculously (or not) recovered from injury to make City’s starting XI. There was no place, of course, for the suspended Emmanuel Adebayor or the injured Robinho.

Still, our blue neighbours would not entirely be deterred. Their 100 per cent start to the campaign, on the back of huge summer spending, has given rise to the belief (largely at Eastlands) that they are title challengers. At this stage at least, City are mere pretenders. A large flag unveiled in the old scoreboard end before kick-off spelt it out emphatically. Welcome to Manchester: 18 Premier League titles. 3 European Cups. 11 FA Cups.at the ground, the clock clicks onto 34 years.

Sir Alex promised the game would be feisty, and that’s how it started. Tevez, typically tenacious, gave United an early fright when he blocked Ben Foster’s clearance, but from the resulting throw-in the Reds countered with Dimitar Berbatov, who slid an incisive pass into Wayne Rooney’s path. Rooney was tackled by Micah Richards, but from a second throw-in City were caught out. Evra advanced along the byline unmarked before finding Rooney, who steadied himself with two blue shirts in close proximity and poked a shot through Shay Given’s legs. A dream start after just two minutes.

However, it was the high point in a frustrating half for United. After 17 minutes the Reds were pegged back – Tevez the goal’s architect. During two years at Old Trafford, we were well-accustomed to Tevez eagerly pestering opposition goalkeepers. And so – especially after an earlier warning – it was surprising that Foster didn’t clear his lines from a harmless blue ball forward. Instead, the Reds keeper hesitated, allowing Tevez to tackle him and lay the ball off for Gareth Barry, who side-footed past Nemanja Vidic on the line.

Despite the excellent start, the Reds enjoyed limited opportunities in front of goal for the remainder of the half. Berbatov saw a long-range effort go over and then couldn’t keeper a header down from Giggs’ free-kick. City, with three central midfielders to United’s two, enjoyed a dominant share of midfield possession, but they too lacked the guile to create. That is, until the final minute of the half when the ball was worked through to Tevez in the area. The Argentinian, with just Foster to beat, hit the post but that was largely due to Evra’s off-putting intervention.

    Today at Old Trafford

Our journalists' take on what's happening at OT – have your say on Talking Reds. We try to link responsibly but can't be held accountable for content on external websites.

    Friday 18 September

    12:54
Just to explain Seeler's somewhat random appearance at OT, I understand he was the star attraction on a package tour for German football fans. While joining them on their look-around the stadium, he was keen to meet up with an old acquaintance in Sir Bobby Charlton. The two men were on opposite sides on several occasions, most notably at Wembley in '66. I passed Sir Bobby on the stairs earlier (oops - isn't that bad luck, to pass on the stairs?), so hopefully the reunion took place. Thanks to our friends in the Museum for tipping us off about the VIP visitor. (AB)

11:36 Oh yeah, the reason I'd wandered down to the pitch was to meet Uwe Seeler. He's the only player to have scored two goals in four different World Cup finals. He also captained West Germany against England in the 1966 final and is widely regarded as one of the finest German forwards to ever play the game. He scored 43 times in 72 appearances for his country. As for his club career, he scored four goals on his first-team debut for Hamburg, aged just 18. It was an honour to meet him. (NC)

11:29 Neither team should have any concerns about being able to play good passing football on Sunday. I've just popped into the stand at the Scoreboard End and Tony Sinclair and his groundstaff are busy preparing the pitch. It looks tremendous. (NC)

10:49 Sir Alex was in fine form at his press conference this morning. He says he isn't bothered whether Carlos Tevez is fit to play on Sunday. He said: “It doesn’t bother me one bit. All I know is that their

    United face new poaching row
Manchester United are confident they will not face action over the signing of Italian kid Michele Fornasier. Fiorentina have complained to FIFA over the 16-year-old defender's move to Old Trafford. Players who are under 18 are not allowed to sign contracts in Italy, so United are sure they have done nothing wrong. However, Fiorentina are furious at losing out on Fornasier, who was one of their biggest prospects. A FIFA spokesman said: "We can confirm that we were contacted by Fiorentina with regard to the potential transfer of the player, Michele Fornasier, to Manchester United. However, so far no formal investigation was opened since the relevant documentation still needs to be completed. Only then will we be in a position to evaluate possible future steps to be taken."
    Staff reporter, The Sun

FIFA President Sepp Blatter suggests that teams found guilty of poaching players should be docked points in future, as opposed to the fine and transfer ban with which Chelsea were punished last week. "You have to touch them where it hurts," says Blatter. "Take away points and you will see it is finished."

After a busy night of World Cup qualifiers, Scotland captain Darren Fletcher was left to lament his side's early exit. "All the players have got to take a look at themselves - it wasn't good enough," says a forthright Fletch.

Meanwhile, The Daily Star uses Inside United's interview with Sir Alex Ferguson to reveal that new signing Gabriel Obertan is on the road to recovery, despite a spinal injury going undetected for 18 months during his time in France.

    Carlos Tevez

Carlos Tevez is one of the Manchester United best Forward man ,now he join with Manchester City at BPL now.I thing this is the bad news for MU but good news for the citizen.Fergusen must be carefull about this man.

“Apa kabar semuanya,” ucap Tevez membuka konferensi persnya.

Tevez sendiri sebenarnya ingin bertahan.
(EDY/SOCCER)

    MU 2 - Arsenal 1

United came from a goal down to beat Arsenal 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday and keep pace with league leaders Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

The victory – gained via a Wayne Rooney penalty and an Abou Diaby own goal – means Sir Alex’s men sit three points behind the London clubs in third place.

Rooney’s goal was his fourth in as many league games this season and restored parity after Andrey Arshavin had earlier given the Gunners the lead with a ferocious strike from distance. But United rallied, equalised and then took the lead just five minutes later when Diaby headed into his own net.

The Reds began the match with only seven of the 11 that started in last Saturday’s 5-0 win at Wigan. At the back, John O’Shea and Wes Brown came in for Gary Neville and Jonny Evans, while Sir Alex’s three-man midfield – Darren Fletcher, Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick – meant Paul Scholes had to settle for a spot on the bench. Wayne Rooney spearheaded the Reds’ attack, with Antonio Valencia and Nani flanking the Englishman.

And after an early spell of Arsenal possession, it was Rooney who fashioned United’s first chance, chipping cleverly over the Gunners’ defence to find Fletcher inside the area. The ball didn’t quite drop for the Scot, however, and his volley flashed over the bar.

Sir Alex's men soon settled and Valencia and Nani saw plenty of the ball. Indeed, it was from wide areas United looked most threatening, especially down Arsenal’s right side. Alexandre Song must have realised the same thing and did his best to curtail Valencia’s involvement with a

Evans to go under the knife
Jonny Evans is ready to undergo surgery on his troublesome ankle in a little more than a fortnight. Sportsmail revealed, the Manchester United defender has been playing through the pain barrier since picking up the knock last Christmas with Rio Ferdinand out for another three weeks and Nemanja Vidic possibly facing and FA rap for his flare-up with Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega last week. But Evans is growing tired of taking pain-killers and is considering an operation on his return from international duty in early September. He told his Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington he is keen to play for his country in the up coming games against Poland and Slovakia before facing surgery. Worthington said: "Jonny rang me last Thursday to say that there’s a possibility that he’ll need an operation, but he wants to try to battle through until after the internationals. Hopefully he’ll remain fit between now and the internationals and then go from there."
    Staff reporter, Daily Mail

There's plenty of reaction to yesterday's Champions League draw with Telegraph columnist Henry Winter backing all four English sides to reach the knock-out phase. Real Madrid's Kaka is not so convinced with The Sun running quotes from him insisting the Barclays Premier League's big four are not the force they once were.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claims Cesc Fabregas will be fit to face United on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring strain.

In other news, Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester City are capable of challenging for the title and does not think the champions’ local rivals should be criticised for spending lavishly if it makes for stiffer competition at the top of the table.

    Owen joy at first strike

Michael Owen was over the moon to break his United duck after firing the Reds' fourth goal in the 5-0 hammering of Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The 29-year-old striker came off the bench on 71 minutes and, after being put through by Nani, produced a vintage finish in front of United's 5000-strong travelling support five minutes from time.

Having failed to put away a handful of chances on his previous two appearances against Birmingham and Burnley, Owen was relieved to finally get off the mark.

"I probably scored the hardest chance I've had!" he joked during an exclusive interview with MUTV. "I had two chances at Burnley and one against Birmingham, but this was the fourth real opportunity I've had.

"I don't think I missed a chance in pre-season, but I've missed a couple since the season started and as ever everyone is quick to write you off. It was as if I hadn't scored for a couple of years! That's something I've had to deal with for ten odd years now and I don't think that will change until I hang up my boots.

"It was certainly a great feeling to score. I'd got a few in pre-season but there's nothing quite like doing it in a competitive game."

With his first goal now under his belt, Owen is confident more will follow.

"I'd be disappointed if people didn't think I could go on from here," he insists. "I obviously believe I can as I have done throughout my career and I certainly expect to score more goals in the red shirt."

    MU - Score

    Wigan 0 United 5

United returned to winning ways in style as Wayne Rooney reached and passed a century of United goals, while Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen - with his maiden Reds strike - and Nani sealed a handsome victory at the DW Stadium.

An end-to-end first half failed to yield any goals, but a glut of second half strikes sealed a 10th successive victory over Wigan - with the undoubted highlight coming as substitute Owen got off the mark with a sublime finish as United reacted positively to Wednesday's shock defeat at Burnley.

After the lacklustre reverse at Turf Moor, Sir Alex Ferguson sought to freshen his side with seven changes of personnel, drafting in Gary Neville and Nemanja Vidic for their first appearances of the season, and putting together a completely new midfield four of Nani, Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes and former Latic Antonio Valencia. Berbatov replaced Owen as Rooney’s strike partner.
It immediately became apparent that there was more zip and purpose in United than there had been at Turf Moor. Only an heroic goal-line block from Titus Bramble prevented Darren Fletcher from turning home Nani’s neat pull-back after just four minutes.
It took only another four minutes for another good opening to come and go. Fletcher was again involved, slipping the ball through for Berbatov, and the Bulgarian instantly teed up Scholes with a delightful back-heel, only for the veteran midfielder to fire over from just inside the area.
Rooney then chanced his arm twice in a minute, hitting the target with one while the other was deflected wide, but Wigan grew in stature as the half reached its midway point. Vidic and Patrice
